San Juan Capestrano Hospital is a 172-bed private psychiatric center located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, offering detox, inpatient, and outpatient services to adolescents, adults, and seniors struggling with addiction and mental health issues. We also offer services at numerous other locations throughout the island.
As part of our mission to remain the premier provider of behavioral healthcare and substance abuse services in all of Puerto Rico, San Juan Capestrano Hospital offers various treatment services at eleven different locations throughout the island. Our Mayagüez location provides care through our adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) and our adult substance abuse intensive outpatient program (IOP).
The adult partial hospitalization program at San Juan Capestrano Hospital’s Mayaguez location is offered for men and women, aged 18 and older, who are suffering from any number of mental, emotional, and behavioral healthcare concerns. Adults who engage in this programming option require thorough, intensive, day-long care, yet do not need the 24/7 monitoring that is provided in an inpatient treatment setting. The therapists, social workers, and other mental health specialists in this program work with patients as they address the core causes and symptoms of the mental health issues that are plaguing them so that they can successfully overcome their trials and find true healing.
The substance abuse IOP at San Juan Capestrano Hospital’s Mayaguez location is open for adults, aged 18 and older, who are struggling with the challenges that arise from chemical dependency issues and require a higher level of care than that which is offered in traditional outpatient treatment, yet do not require the intensive care that is offered in a partial hospitalization program or in an inpatient treatment setting. Through the use of dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, life skills training, relapse prevention education, and continuing care planning, the caring and compassionate staff at our Mayaguez location can help individuals overcome even the most long-standing of addictions by offering structured and supportive care in an environment that is fully conducive to healing and lasting recovery.
